As you embark on this exciting journey, here are some essential tips to help you prepare for your trip and settle into your new life in Liverpool:

  1. Get ready with the pre-departure briefing
Attend the pre-departure briefing - a comprehensive session providing essential information for your arrival at the University. Interact with staff and students, receive guidance on packing and travel, and understand the arrival process.
  2. Master the basics in the kitchen
Learn how to cook the essentials - preparing simple meals at home will save you money and help you feel more at home while studying abroad.
  3. Think about your career
Attend careers fairs and join platforms like Handshake, GetHighered, and Student Circus. The Management School Careers Team provides tailored, one-to-one support, so make the most of these services.
  4. Be a course representative
Volunteering as a Course Rep is a fantastic opportunity to advocate for your peers and make a difference. It's a valuable experience that will enhance your CV.
  5. Join a society
Engage with student societies to meet like-minded people and make friends who share your interests. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the vibrant campus life and create lasting memories.
  6. Familiarise yourself with support services
Know where to find assistance for academic or personal challenges. Familiarise yourself with the support available at the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool Guild of Students to ensure a smooth transition.

Embrace these tips, and you'll have a fantastic experience at the University of Liverpool!
