Interdisciplinary Centre for Sustainability Research (ICSR)
The ICSR, established in 2024, will act as a nexus for interdisciplinary research and impact at Liverpool. It will bring together researchers with different types of knowledge, experience and skills from across the University, as well as engaging with national and international experts.
The Centre's mission is to support teams of researchers who can collectively tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We will periodically focus on specific thematic SDGs. This will require innovative collaboration to identify tractable research opportunities.
ISCR's initial focus will be on climate-related SDGs, spanning several of the goals that cover this issue. The University of Liverpool's work in digital solutions and innovation will be fundamental in supporting a range of interdisciplinary research.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that interdisciplinary teams can generate substantial world-leading outputs and impact. To achieve this, we are looking to work with external research funders to support our research power and generate maximum impact.
