CONFERENCE: 2026 PSA Sport and Politics Conference
The Centre for Sports Business is delighted to bring the Political Studies Association’s annual Sport and Politics conference to the University of Liverpool Management School for the first time.
Date: 4-5 June 2026
Place: Registration and opening keynote at School of Law & Social Justice (ground floor)
Open to: PhD students or candidates and established scholars engaged in related research, from all institutions.
Theme: Political governance and the reshaping of the sports industry
This conference will focus on the role of government in influencing and shaping the evolving nature of the sports industry and seeks to better understand the interplay and evolving dynamics between sport and politics.
Activities: Keynote speakers, panel discussions, social gatherings and opportunities for networking among scholars and practitioners in the field of sport and politics. Full programme details to be announced shortly.

This is an in-person only conference and will take place at the University of Liverpool. All delegates are invited to an informal social gathering at Liverpool Arts Bar, Hope St, on Wednesday 3 June from 7:00pm.
