The Centre for Sports Business is delighted to announce its first two panellists for the ‘Gender Equality in Football Leadership’ Business Breakfast event on Tuesday 3 March.
Sarah Guilfoyle, Managing Director at Wigan Athletic and the youngest CEO in English football, will be on the panel at the University of Liverpool Management School’s first Business Breakfast of 2026.
At the age of 28, Sarah already has more than a decade of experience working in the football industry, starting with a placement at Accrington Stanley – the team she watched as a child – before rising through the ranks at Tranmere Rovers and Wigan.
Alongside Sarah will be the Deputy CEO of Women In Football, Lisa Hoten-Pool. After a decade of working in director roles in retail and wholesale, Lisa embarked on a transition to a career in football, the game which had always been her biggest passion.
With the encouragement of former Centre for Sports Business Director, Professor Sue Bridgewater, Lisa studied a masters in sports business and management at the University of Liverpool, during which time she was appointed to her current role.
We look forward to welcoming both panellists to the event, which takes place in the lead-up to International Women’s Day and is delivered in partnership with O’Connors and Bruntwood SciTech.
Starting at 9am, this insightful session will comprise of refreshments and networking followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
