A message from your Associate Dean
Congratulations on securing your place on the MBA programme at the triple accredited University of Liverpool Management School. The MBA team and I are looking forward to welcoming you onto campus in September.
Our MBA programmes offer an innovative and diverse range of experiences that support you to develop and excel as a leader. Your MBA experience begins at Foundation Week in your MBA space - the Brett building. You will meet your MBA team and fellow candidates and discuss what you want to achieve at the end of your MBA and how we can support you in achieving those ambitions.
Our MBA programmes combine theory with practical experiences that have real impact for you. We offer diverse and innovative opportunities from experiencing a corporate boardroom scenario using immersive VR through to networking with top industry leaders, many of whom include our dedicated 35,000 alumni from across the world. Our classroom extends beyond the Brett building and into the Liverpool City Region and wider, working closely with businesses, gaining valuable insights from SMEs, through to multinational businesses and organisations.
And a programme highlight - the European study trip. We'll travel to Lisbon in January 2026, the capital of Portugal. This is a city going places – a thriving economy with rapid growth in tourism and financial services. The city also attracts small to medium sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. We hope this will be a memorable and rewarding experience of you.
Dedicated career support
Alongside our teaching and resources, we offer the support of your dedicated career and professional development coach, Bernie Lyons. Bernie's support is highly valued by our MBAs and includes a personalised career plan, psychometric testing, interview preparation and help preparing a CV that best highlights your skills, experiences and qualifications to potential employers.
Your life in Liverpool
For those new to the UK and city, we understand that moving to a new city and university can seem daunting. Therefore, we have organised events and a schedule of induction activities in our Welcome and Foundation Weeks. I’m confident that these will help you to settle in and discover the amazing city of Liverpool – voted the best city for food for 2025 and a place known for its friendly people, culture, sports, music and architecture.
I am excited to share in your development in the coming year, and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to further your studies and your career with us. During your studies at the University, and beyond, we will be your partners in learning - committed to and proud of the success you achieve.
With my best wishes,
Dr John Byrom
