Shipra Gupta: India
I completed my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Christ University in Bangalore between 2014 and 2017. Following this, I began my professional career at Deloitte in Bangalore, where I worked as an Executive in Transfer Pricing for the Canada team.

I then moved into a more people-focused role as an HR Manager with the Atlas Group in Kathmandu, a company operating in the medical devices and logistics sectors.
More recently, I worked as a Management Coordinator for Vayodha Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu, supporting the Board of Directors and contributing to high-level organisational coordination and decision-making processes.
Why did you decide to study an MBA at this point in your career?
At this stage in my career, I wanted to broaden my perspective and gain exposure to global markets and business environments. Having worked across different roles and industries, I felt it was the right time to build on my existing experience and further develop my professional skill set.
Studying for an MBA also provides an opportunity to explore pathways beyond traditional corporate and multinational roles, while supporting my personal growth and continuous learning. Additionally, I was keen to experience different cultures and perspectives, and to develop a deeper appreciation for art, culture, and ways of working beyond a single region.
Why did you choose the Management School?
For me, an MBA represents a natural progression in my career, helping to strengthen my skills while opening up new opportunities.
The programme offers the chance to explore a wider range of career paths, including new job roles and potential business ideas, making it a valuable step forward in my professional development.
What aspects of the MBA programme have you enjoyed most so far?
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the MBA has been the diversity of cultural experiences shared by both peers and lecturers.
The programme encourages active participation, with engaging discussions that move beyond a one-directional flow of information.
What skills or knowledge do you feel you’ve developed since starting the MBA?
Since starting the MBA, I have developed greater self-awareness and confidence, both academically and personally.
The programme has also encouraged me to adopt new routines and ways of thinking, particularly in relation to global awareness and understanding international business contexts.

What do you do when not studying?
Outside of my studies, I enjoy making the most of what Liverpool has to offer. The city has a wide range of museums, pubs, and events to explore. I also enjoy sketching in my free time, which allows me to relax and express my creativity.
What are you enjoying most about living in Liverpool?
I particularly enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Liverpool, from its colourful surroundings to the diversity of its people.
The city offers a wide variety of food options and is more affordable compared to many other parts of the UK, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to live while studying.
