We are pleased to announce that of the nine teams that entered the undergraduate Universities Business Challenge (UBC) 2026, six have progressed to the semi-finals after finishing in the top three of their groups, marking a record year for the Management School.
UBC offers students the chance to compete in national, simulation-based business competitions for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Management School has a long history of supporting students in competing, with undergraduate teams winning in 2021 and 2022, and a postgraduate team winning in 2025.
The 2026 undergraduate teams are made up of students from across all of the Management School's undergraduate programmes. Students act as a board of directors in a series of realistic business simulations, making decisions across key areas such as marketing, finance, operations and human resources.
The overall aim is to improve company performance, while balancing the needs of customers, employees and wider stakeholders.
This year’s competition began with a five-week online simulation involving more than 200 teams nationally, so it is a fantastic achievement to have six teams progressing to the later stage of the competition.
Further updates will be shared as the competition continues.
