The University of Liverpool Management School opened Enhance Week 7 with the Enhance Career Conference, held at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool.
The Enhance Programme is the Management School’s exclusive development programme for master’s students. It aims to boost employability, build confidence and support student wellbeing.
Through dedicated activity weeks each semester, students take part in skills workshops, industry-led sessions, networking events and real business experiences.
This project helps students understand how employers recruit, develop practical work skills and feel part of a strong, supportive community.
The Enhance Career Conference brought together MSc students, alumni and industry partners for a full day of learning, inspiration and career development.
Students took part in interactive workshops that helped them build key skills for the workplace. Sessions covered elevator pitches, marketing and advertising strategy, and cross-disciplinary problem solving. A live business challenge asked students to work in teams to solve real company problems, encouraging them to think critically, work under pressure and deliver clear, creative ideas.
The conference also featured two panel sessions. The employer panel included:
- Barry Challinor, Assistant Manager at BDO
- Hayley Corless, Senior Neighbourhood Manager at Liverpool City Council
- Mark Kay, Delivery Manager at CGI.
They spoke about real-world business challenges and shared what organisations look for in future talent.
The alumni panel showcased the strength of the Management School community, and the varied paths graduates take. Speakers included:
- Sonia Hamoud, MSc International Business graduate, now Business Development and Content Creator at Piohni
- Ajani Healy, MSc Digital Marketing and Analytics graduate, now Marketing Intern at the Tung Auditorium
- Krishnaja Satheesh, MSc Business Analytics and Big Data graduate, now Customer Insights Analyst at Direct Line Group
- Hardik More, MSc Management graduate, now Operations Executive at Mint People.
They shared their career journeys and offered practical advice for students preparing for the next stage. Students built connections with peers, alumni and industry experts, while developing confidence and essential professional skills.
