The Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship has recently collaborated with Liverpool based tech start-up business Generative Minds to launch its inaugural AI Start-up School for young early-stage founders and idea-stage entrepreneurs keen to explore how AI could be used to expand the potential of their business concepts.

Interested participants from across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) were requested to send in a two-minute video pitch of their ideas with twenty successful applicants selected to attend the two-day workshop.

Over the course of the two days participants learnt about the range of AI tools available and how they can be used to leverage the potential at every stage of the business lifecycle,  i.e. at the planning, validation, launch and growth phases.

Topics covered included: use of AI to research, plan and test ideas; building a sales funnel from scratch; creating branded content; how to automate customer communication and designing landing pages for websites with no-code tools.  The objective was for participants to leave with a working prototype and a strategy to scale-up their venture - powered by AI.

The AI Start-up School was the brainchild of Alex Keyter, a University of Liverpool (UoL) alumnus and founder of Generative Minds,  an AI focused training and consultancy business and Richard Leighton, Entrepreneur in Residence at the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship who joined forces to organise the initiative; their mission being to ensure that no-one is left behind in the digital age and that LCR young entrepreneurs have the best opportunities to thrive in the age of AI.

Commenting on the workshop, participant Tosit Roy, Consultant / Project Manager and masters student at the University of Liverpool Management School said "Grateful to have been part of this incredible AI Start-up School led by Alex Keyter and Richard Leighton. Got to exchange ideas with some brilliant people, explore how AI can streamline creative work, and dive into conversations across a mix of industries I don't usually get to see up close. Easily one of the most energizing learning environments I’ve been in."
