On Wednesday 2 July 2025, we welcomed a number of local businesses to our latest Business Breakfast, “Smarter Pricing Strategies”, at the Radisson RED Liverpool.
We were joined by Professor Nicolas de Roos from the Management School, who provided an overview of the core principles behind dynamic and surge pricing. His presentation explored both the advantages and challenges these models present for businesses and consumers alike.
Following this, Martynas Rutkauskas and Michelle Melia from Radisson RED shared valuable insights into the tools they use to optimise room occupancy across various customer segments. They also offered a preview of some of the innovative pilot initiatives currently being trialled across the wider Radisson Red group.
The Q&A session at the end was very successful, allowing room for some interesting discussion.
Hazel Kennedy, External Engagement Manager at the Management School, said, “It was a pleasure to welcome guests to our latest Business Breakfast on 'Smarter Pricing Strategies'.”
“We’re grateful to Professor Nicolas de Roos for sharing his academic insights into the economics of dynamic pricing and to Martynas Rutkauskas and Michelle Melia from Radisson RED for offering a practical industry perspective.”
“The strong turnout and lively discussion during the Q&A showed just how relevant this topic is for businesses navigating today’s fast-changing market conditions.”
