'Becoming AI Native' short courses
The University of Liverpool Management School offers practical executive education for leaders who want to move from experimenting with AI to using it in ways that are useful, safe and grounded in real work.
Two courses, one progression
The Becoming AI Native banner brings together two complementary one-day courses that can be taken separately or as a sequence. Both lead to a University of Liverpool Certificate of Engagement and include a 30 day check-in with your course leader and peer group to ensure you are on the road to becoming AI Native.
Led by Dr Jen Davies this new short course family is built around real operational challenges: the administration that eats into your week, the processes that rely too heavily on individuals, and the questions of control, accountability, privacy and implementation that matter when AI moves from experimentation to use.
They are designed for local business leaders, senior managers and owner-managers who want a clear, non-technical way to understand what AI can do for them now and how to apply it in practice and be ready for future developments.
Your Personal AI Agent: Building an Operating System for Your Life
Duration: 1 day
Dates: 17 Nov 2026 / 19 Jan 2027
Cost: £500*
Place: University of Liverpool campus
A practical introduction for busy executives, founders and senior managers who want to reduce the personal administrative load of managing diary, inbox, tasks, documents and research.
This course helps participants move beyond chatbots and explore how a personal AI agent can coordinate routine work across systems. It is especially relevant for leaders who have tried AI tools but want to understand how to make them genuinely useful in day-to-day working or personal life.
Participants are encouraged to complete a short pre-work exercise before attending, and those who take part in the practical build can bring a laptop and work on their own starter workflow during the day.
The course also includes a 30-day check-in, helping participants review what worked, what needed human intervention, and what they would change next.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- map their recurring administrative workload
- identify tasks that could be delegated or coordinated by an agent
- define boundaries and approval points
- design a starter workflow
- leave with a 30-day implementation plan
Leading the AI-Native Organisation: From Copilots to Agentic Orchestration
Duration: 1 day
Dates: 19 Nov 2026 / 21 Jan 2027
Cost: £500*
A second-step course for leaders who want to think beyond individual productivity and into organisational design, process, governance and readiness.
This course is aimed at senior leaders, directors, founders and operational decision-makers who want to understand what it means for an organisation to become AI-native. It focuses on the knowledge that currently sits in people’s heads, desktops, and scattered systems, how agents are built and orchestrated, where human review belongs, and how to shape a small, controlled pilot for a real process.
It is designed for leaders with some experience of AI tools, including those who have completed Your Personal AI Agent and want to extend that learning into teams and organisational processes. Like the first course, it is built for non-technical participants and includes pre-reading or pre-work, followed by a 30-day follow-up to support reflection, troubleshooting and next steps.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain what it means for their organisation to be AI-native and why readiness matters before tools
- Apply the new-starter test to a process to identify missing knowledge and documentation
- Describe, in plain English, how AI agents are built and how they can be orchestrated across a process
- Identify where human review, approval and accountability should sit in an AI-supported workflow
- Outline a small, controlled pilot that reflects organisational policy, data, privacy and security requirements

Why these courses matter
Many organisations are already using AI to draft emails, summarise documents and speed up individual tasks. Fewer have a clear way to move from isolated use to thoughtful, coordinated adoption.
These courses are designed to help leaders:
- understand AI in practical, business-relevant terms
- identify where value can be created without unnecessary complexity
- make better decisions about boundaries, review points and accountability
- explore how AI agents can support real work without losing human control
- build confidence before asking teams or organisations to adopt new approaches
