Student Commendations

Published on

To start the new decade, we are celebrating seven students this January who have received commendations!

We want to celebrate our students who go above and beyond, and commendations are our way of providing positive feedback to the hard working individuals at the School of Medicine.

Celebrating this month:

Ahmad Ali, nominated by A Meikle-Roche, for working above and beyond the level expected of a Year 3 student. Ahmad organised further training and engagement with the specialist team, demonstrating their exceptional commitment to, and ownership of, their learning.

Abdul Basit, nominated by Ms Kelly Hughes, for demonstrating exceptional peer support, by providing excellent critiquing and supporting his peers.

Barney Carter, nominated by Dr Rehan Akhtar, for working above and beyond the level expected of a 2nd year student, demonstrated through excellent care and teamwork on Clinical placement.

Charles Hextall, nominated by Dr Fariha Bokhari, for commitment to patient care demonstrated through feedback from staff and relatives.

Matthew Ryan, nominated by Dr Fariha Bokhari, for engagement with the course by contributing to service improvements.

Komal Younas, nominated by Dr Maria Parish, for having such a strong sense of duty and persevering to attend placement.

Commendations at the Liverpool School of Medicine

Do you know a fellow student who you think deserves a commendation? A teacher or member of staff that you think is exceptional? Let the school know by submitting a commendation form!

We want to celebrate the people from within the Medical School, whether that’s an individual, team or organisation, who have gone above and beyond, or have made a positive impact in any way – from clinical skills and research to helping those around them, and anything in between.

Forms are available on VITAL, and all completed forms should be sent to: Dir.mbchb@liverpool.ac.uk

View your course handbook (also available on VITAL) for full details on how to nominate.
