Admissions Interviews

For 2024 entry the School of Medicine has received approximately 3000 applications for its medicine programmes. In the 2024/25 academic year students will be enrolled on both the A100 (5-year) programme and the new A101 (4 -year) route which is specifically designed for graduates.

Successful applicants come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all demonstrate the potential for a thoughtful, caring and compassionate approach to medical practice, and for the motivation and academic excellence to benefit from, and contribute to, our School.

For entry in E2024, a total of 332 places are available with 23 of these reserved for international applicants and 30 for the A101 programme. The selection process will be compatible with both NHS Values Based Recruitment, and recommendations from the Medical Schools Council that interviews should be part of the decision-making process.

To deliver the required interviews we will again require significant supported from academic staff and clinicians from across our network. Indeed we are indebted to our interviewers for their time and professionalism in supporting our admissions process through challenging times.

Interview Dates:  22nd January to 9th February 2024.

Interviews will predominantly be on-campus Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) but on-line MMI will be delivered on the 8th and 9th February. Interview sessions can be booked as individual mornings or afternoons, or as a full day.

Training will be provided in an electronic format which can be accessed from your own computer. Additional optional opportunities to attend an on-line training session prior to the interviews, are scheduled for Tuesday 9th January 2024 and Wednesday 17th January 2024 at 12.30 pm.

If you would like to be involved in the interviews please identify which mornings and afternoons you can spare and select the best session to suit you using our online Admissions Recruitment booking system accessible via this page.
