Summer refurbishment for the School of Medicine's new home

Published on

Over the summer, work will be ongoing to reinvigorate the learning and social environment of Cedar House, ready for the start of the next academic year.

Work will be continuing to transform the building across all six floors, including social and study space in the new Student Hub extension, as well as teaching rooms, staff offices and circulation space.

To date, some visible changes have already been made including the new ground floor MBChB office - which many of you have alreayd visited, and the new extension is beginning to take shape in the courtyard area. By the next academic year this work will be complete, with the new offices, teaching rooms and student social and study areas newly refurbished and fully furnished.

What's next?

The main focus of the work over the summer will be on the transformation of the ground floor with the completion of the building works to create the new, vibrant Student Hub. The dedicated ground floor study areas will also be in place for when you return, and the new AV and power facilities will be incorporated into the newly-refurbished, contemporary teaching areas.

We would like to thank you again for your patience over the course of the refurbishment, and hope you are looking forward to enjoying the transformed environment of the School of Medicine when you return. If you have any questions about the project and upcoming changes, please don't hesitate to get in touch: projectlive@liverpool.ac.uk.
