Students change attitudes to change lives

Published on

Socially conscious MBChB Students at Liverpool have raised over £1250 since the start of this academic year.

The money has been raised by students working with Streetdoctors, a national charity born in 2008 in the minds of two Liverpool medical students. Using first aid as a tool to educate and empower young people, giving them confidence and a sense of responsibility for their actions, student volunteers working with Streetdoctors are making a difference and changing attitudes towards violence.

Almost every medical school in the country now proudly boasts their own Streetdoctors team working to change attitudes, and lives. The Liverpool Streetdoctors team currently has an amazing team of 25 members across all years and conduct the sessions all across the North West, from Wigan to Chester.

Think you could make a difference with Streetdoctors?

Auditions are held in October each year and then the new recruits attend a national training day. There is a great energy to the team and plenty of opportunity to join - particularly if you are in the early years of your studies.

Follow Streetdoctors on social media to find out ways you can join in, and to keep an eye out for details of the 2019 auditions.
