Celebrating LivUni intercalation graduates

Published on

Student doctors enjoyed their graduation celebrations this week as they joined their fellow peers at the Liverpool Philharmonic.

Each year, many of our student doctors opt to complete an intercalated degree to further develop knowledge and skills that will support their future career and clinical practice. An amazing 50 of our own Year 4 cohort graduated from this University on Monday and Tuesday in a wide range of degrees from, including ACE Medicine (MSc), Infection and Immunity (MSc) and Tropical Disease Biology (BSc).

Students also graduated from a record seven postgraduate taught programmes (link) on Tuesday 12th December. With nineteen of our current students intercalating onto the Acute, Critical, and Emergency Medicine and Global Medical Ethics programme this year, it has been a great success.

We were joined this week by students too from India and Nigeria who had returned to Liverpool to join in the celebrations for their Masters awards in Palliative and End of Life Care (link), and Global Healthcare Ethics (link) Programmes. They have enriched our classrooms and have been a delight to teach.

Director of Postgraduate Education, Susan Buttress, says “It’s a huge step forwards for the School and we are delighted to see so many students benefitting from their studies, both our own intercalating students and those moving into new job roles.”

Congratulations to all of our graduates!
