Transport to Liverpool

If you are flying into Manchester Airport, the most appropriate form of transport is by train.  The average train fare from Manchester to Liverpool Lime Street (in the city centre) is £20, however this price can vary depending on the time you take the train.  Further details and train times can be found here.

You would then need to get a taxi from Liverpool Lime Street to your accommodation.  There are always plenty of black cabs outside the station.  Make sure you have the name and address of your accommodation to hand so that you can show the taxi driver if necessary.  The cost of a black cab from the station to the University is usually under £10. Please ensure you adhere to the latest UK government guidance on using private transport.

If you are going further afield the cost of a taxi will be a lot more and you may prefer to get the bus instead.  You can find bus timetables here.

Finally, you may wish to travel directly by taxi from the airport, if so, you can book a car with the airport partner Street Cars. The cost of a taxi from Manchester Airport to Liverpool for 1 student or 2 students sharing will be between £60 and £85 total (£30-£42.50 each, if sharing).
