Open Monday – Friday, 09.00 – 17.00, The Language Lounge offers resources such as books and DVDs, and guidance from a member of the teaching staff to help you improve your English and study skills.  We can recommend useful or relevant resources for your specific needs, or you can choose from a selection of graded readers, novels, grammar guides, text books and dictionaries.  The University of Liverpool’s Language Lounge is a unique study facility where students at the ELC can mix with language students from across the university, find a study or social space, or take part in events.

As well as access to resources in the Language Lounge, as a student at the English Language Centre you will have full rights to the University’s two libraries, with over 2.5 million study resources.  Wi-Fi is available across campus and in your residences, and laptops are available for loan within the libraries.   With both social and quiet study areas and over 2,000 computers situated across the campus, the University is set up to provide the very best environment for you to achieve academically.

As well as the central University facilities which are in place to support you during your time in Liverpool, the English Language Centre, offers a daily drop-in service to help you with problems big and small and bookable appointments with trained welfare staff if you prefer more privacy.  We hope you won’t need to, but if necessary, you can ask for a referral to specialist University welfare staff.  A wrap around welfare package means that you have the peace of mind of knowing that there is someone to go to if problems should arise.
