Conveniently located close to the city centre, the IELTS Test Centre forms part of the English Language Centre at University of Liverpool (Centre Number: 34400). Our IELTS Administrators are available for queries Monday-Friday 9am-5pm via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS is jointly owned by British Council; IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
IELTS is the world's most widely accepted English language test for study, work and migration. It is recognized by over 10,000 organizations worldwide, with over 3.5 million tests taken globally in 2018.
Unlike many other English tests, IELTS uses a one-to-one speaking test to assess your English communication skills. This way, your speaking skills are assessed in a personal conversation and a natural speaking environment.

Following the recent government announcement on the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, the IELTS Test Centre will resume testing from the 3rd June 2021.
In the meantime, all future test bookings are suspended and any planned tests prior to the 3rd June are now cancelled.
The health and safety of university staff, students and visitors to campus is most important at this time, and we thank you for your continued patience.
As we now offer Computer-delivered IELTS testing, which is more flexible when planning newly scheduled dates, this means that when we reopen we will be able to clear any backlog efficiently and promptly.
