What a win for the Liverpool Medics Cricket Team who have claimed the number one spot in the Indoor National Association of Medical Schools (NAMS) cricket competition 2023 for the second year running.

The tournament is one of the largest university-level indoor cricket competitions and takes place each year. In 2022, the Liverpool Medics cricket team were crowned NAMS national champions (link) after defeating King’s College London in the final match.

Student Doctor and Club President Rohan Drawid says “NAMS 2023 was hosted by Nottingham medical school on 3rd December, and it consisted of medical schools from all over the UK.

“On the day we woke up at 5:30am ready for a two-hour drive. We were all very excited for the day and ready to defend our title from last year.”

Emotions changed to worried when we saw the large amounts of snow on the motorway and in Nottingham, but a few wheel spins later we all made it!

“The feeling of winning was incredible, and it felt great to win the tournament in back-to-back years. I was proud and very happy for all the team members involved.”

We all went to Nando's to celebrate after the win and warm up after a cold day of playing!

“I love being in the Liverpool medics team. It’s great to exposure to other age groups within the medical school as well around the UK. All the senior members are all very approachable and there’s a great team dynamic.”

Congratulations to the Liverpool Medics Cricket Team on their incredible win for a second year in a row!
