Artefacts bring the house down with Kiss Me, Kate

Performed over three nights at the Eleanor Rathbone Theatre, Kiss Me, Kate by the School’s performing arts society Artefacts had students, staff and alumni on their feet.

The musical featured student doctors from all year groups and showcased the combined talents of band, choir, dance and drama.

The performance follows the story of Director divorcee Fred Graham as he tries to save his production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ as he battles unsavoury dealings, romantic troubles and dramatic co-stars.

Artefacts Musical Director and Conductor Mimi Al-Sadoon is beaming with pride, "Kiss Me, Kate was a joy for us all to direct together. We have had the best time working with one another and the cast, band, and backstage have all been amazing!"

Kiss Me, Kate is the latest in a long line of impressive and heart-warming events and initiatives Artefacts have contributed to the student community this academic year.

Their variety show at Mountford Hall in November showcased their work from the first term of the year, with band, choir, drama and dance busy with auditions for weeks leading up to the big night.

This February, Artefacts helped raise over £2,000 for local charities Wirral Mind and Kind Liverpool through their collaboration with the LMSS on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing event at St George’s Hall.
