Launch your career!

Join us for the Virtual Medical Careers Festival, and ask questions of a wide range of experienced clinicians representing their specialities. Get to grips with what it is really like to practise a specialty, in a relaxed and informal environment, via Zoom – for one week only!

Each year, the School of Medicine brings together experienced clinicians to provide you with unique insights into working in their specialty, and help support you in making vital careers decisions.

As future medics, traditional all-rounder careers fairs can provide limited information and support for how to progress in your field, which is why at the School of Medicine, we dedicate the time and support to ensure you get the information and guidance you need, from the only people qualified to offer you advice – your future colleagues.

As we all continue to adapt to changing circumstances to help keep everyone safe during the pandemic, this year the Medical Careers Fair will be a little different! We are hosting a week-long virtual Medical Careers Festival, with a whole host of specialties represented each evening.

The Festival will run each evening from Monday 30th November to Friday 4th December, 5.45pm - 7.30pm. Book tickets for your preferred specialty sessions - for free.

A wide range of clinicians from across the different specialties will be available each evening, to answer your questions in a relaxed, informal environment.

This event has been organised with all medical students in mind, whatever year you are in, whether you already have strong preferences towards a particular specialty, or haven’t started exploring yet.

To ensure you can get the most out of the event, we will offer the opportunity for you to book into your preferred sessions over the week, for free. The full schedule and links to book your sessions will be available in the weekly bulletin on Tuesday 17th November, (two weeks before the event).

If you have any questions about how to prepare for the event, or for Careers Support over the year whenever you need it – please don’t hesitate to contact our Medical Careers Advisor, Jennifer Connell: careers.mbchb@liverpool.ac.uk
