Three law students from the University of Liverpool Law School recently had the honour of marshalling esteemed British High Court Judges Mr Justice Cobb and Ms Justice Henke, at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Whilst marshalling, third-year law students Sandhanam Sathya Narayanan, Medha Menon and Nichol Shim, under the guidance of Mr. Justice Cobb, got to experience family law case briefings and discussions. These sessions offered them a unique view from the bench and deepened their grasp of the legal system. Despite their busy schedules, both Justices demonstrated dedication and eagerness to share their wisdom with the students, leaving a lasting impact on their academic journey.

The inception of this invaluable opportunity can be attributed to the proactive initiative taken by the students themselves. Following their attendance at an optional lecture delivered by Mr Justice Cobb as part of the Liverpool Law School's 130th-anniversary celebrations, Sathya, Medha and Nichol made the most of the networking reception to engage with him by posing questions and sharing insights into their studies and career aspirations.

Law student Sandhanam Sathya Narayanan said: "This opportunity has ignited our passion for Family Law. It was a transformative experience that provided us with insights that extend beyond the textbooks. We express our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed School for the invaluable support that made this transformative experience possible. The Law School's commitment to fostering such opportunities has greatly enriched our academic journey".
