The Liverpool School of Architecture is pleased to announce that applications are now open for two new master’s programmes launching in September 2026: MSc Global Housing Design and MSc Global Urbanism and Heritage*.
MSc Global Housing Design in an advanced architectural design course for those seeking to transform approaches to housing provision. It combines elements of architecture, urban planning, design and social sciences to inspire students to re-imagine cities and homes for future generations. It also considers environmental issues and policy making, and offers a global outlook to equip graduates to apply their skills to projects across the world.
LSA is an internationally-recognised centre for architectural and built environment research, and this new master’s programme capitalises on its expertise in housing.
MSc Global Urbanism and Heritage aims to address the growing demand for qualified professionals who have the expertise to harness the opportunities presented by rapid urban development, whilst safeguarding heritage assets and preserving the individual identities of expanding cities. Through its consideration of architecture, urban planning, sustainability and globalisation, it offers a responsible approach to urban development and heritage management.
It is one of the activities linked to the School’s £2.2m Leverhulme International Professorship grant, the main output of which is the establishment of an international heritage and coastal urbanism research lab to investigate how the dual threat of rapid globalisation and climate change impact built and cultural heritage across cities in West Africa.
*Please note: MSc Global Urbanism and Heritage is still subject to final university approval.
