The Liverpool Architectural Society is the Merseyside branch of the Royal Institute of British Architects. It is one of the oldest architectural societies in the world, founded in 1848 with many past presidents being former staff and students at the Liverpool School of Architecture. The LAS run building visits, lectures, quiz nights and other architecture-related events throughout the year. Every year the LAS invites students of architecture in Liverpool to submit proposals for a study-based trip. A scholarship is presented to the student or students whose proposal demonstrates the most appropriate and worthwhile use in the opinion of the LAS Council. The LAS also invites students to sit on their council, where both Liverpool University and Liverpool John Moores University have representation.

Each year prizes are given by the LSA for BA and MArch design projects.
