Water in Lagos
How water production systems shape health in Lagos.
Dr Nura Ali, URBAN+/ HERITAGE TALK

Online Event, 12-1pm, Wed 28 January 2026
How water flows through a city tells a story about the priorities of power - a story that manifests in the everyday infrastructures and health of urban citizens. In our January Urban+/Heritage Talk, Dr Nura Ali traces such hydro-social relations and their production of urban health inequalities in the metropolis of Lagos, where existing vocabularies of citiness cease to explain the realities of a majority of urban dwellers.
Dr Ali analyses the established institution of Lagosian 'waterpreneurs' in the Makoko/waya warfront area and their critical water production systems that serve millions.
