Housing Symposium and Workshop, 9-13 February, 2026
Together with the British Council Hungary, the MSc in Global Housing Design Programme of Liverpool School of Architecture and MOME Architectural Knowledge Center’s MA Programme, MOME’s Society & Action Lab is hosting a unique interdisciplinary research and pedagogic collaboration to explore the dimensions of ‘Living with water collectively’.
The symposium and workshop aims to explore the question: How do we live collectively?
It will bring together students, researchers, and practitioners from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Liverpool School of Architecture, the Budapest Mayors Office and external academic institutions to discuss challenges current housing design debates focusing on housing co-operatives in different urban contexts. The symposium and workshop allows to bring designs and research from both programmes together while testing them against co-operative housing precedents across the globe.Through keynotes, research and project presentations as well as open discussions, the symposium connects theory and practice, situating contemporary student projects within the past, present and future of collective housing.
