Welcome from the Head of Department

Welcome from the Head of Department

On behalf of the Liverpool School of Architecture and the School of the Arts, I am delighted to welcome you as a new student. Since its inception in the late nineteenth century, the Liverpool School of Architecture has always focused its attention on nurturing individual talent, keeping in mind the contemporary intellectual culture of Architecture. Throughout your degree we will encourage you to find your own creative path, underpinned by robust research and innovative approaches.

As an Architecture student, you’ll be part of the School of the Arts, home to a wider community of scholars from five different disciplines. We are sure you will be inspired by and benefit from the breadth and vitality within the School of the Arts, with world-class teaching and in-depth specialist expertise available to you. The School also has a dedicated Student Support Centre who will help through your time at University, more details of which you can find below.

Your Welcome Pack (which you will receive shortly if you haven’t already) will help you in your first few days at the University, but you’ll also find lots of information on the Welcome pages and below. Please don’t worry if it seems a lot to take in – we will work hard during Welcome Week and in the first semester to make your transition to university life as smooth as possible!

I very much look forward to welcoming you to the School in person in September.
