Strategic Research Areas
Major scientific and societal challenges of our time require expertise from many domains of physics. At the University of Liverpool, we address these through our Strategic Research areas, interdisciplinary themes that draw upon all of our research expertise and know-how.
These areas focus on addressing major societal needs by advancing healthcare and building a sustainable future. The also tackle cutting-edge research topics, developing new technologies using artificial intelligence and quantum science.
Our Strategic Research Areas also shape our curriculum, ensuring that our students gain the skills and knowledge needed to become leaders in these critical areas.
