Questions relating to finding out about your results and what that means for your offer with us.

Exam and assessment result queries

When will I find out about my exam results and whether I have a place at Liverpool?

Your institution will send us your official transcript. As long as you meet the offer conditions and have the required English language qualification, your offer will become unconditional.

Once we have made a decision, you can check your status on UCAS Track.

If I needed an English language test, but haven’t been able to take one, what else is applicable to show my language competency?

If you have been unable to take an English Language Test and do not have either English GCSE or A-Level, then under current circumstances, the University is able to look at a number of other options. These include IELTS scores, the TOEFL Home Edition and Duolingo.

When will I receive the CAS?

Once your offer becomes unconditional, you will be issued with a CAS within 48 hours. You will receive your CAS number first, followed by the CAS statement the next day. You can apply for your visa with the CAS number – there is no need to wait for the statement.

Can I appeal or retake a qualification?

Yes, you can appeal or retake a qualification (although we will only accept ONE resit). You must inform the admissions team as soon as possible so we can put your application on hold. Please email ugosi@liverpool.ac.uk.

Queries about meeting your offer

I’ve met my offer. What happens next?

If you’ve met your offer, then congratulations – there’s nothing more you need to do at this stage if UCAS Track has confirmed that your offer has been met.

You will shortly receive a number of emails explaining further about joining us and how to register as a student to access all of your key information.

What happens if I get a lower grade than expected or don’t meet my entry requirements?

This depends on the difference between your expected and obtained grades. We will only reconsider applicants who have us as their firm choice.

Could I defer my entry to the following academic year if I don’t want to join this year?

In many cases you can defer entry by one year, especially if you wish to gain relevant work experience or improve your language skills.

The University is happy to consider requests to defer entry for one year. Applicants may either indicate on their application that they wish to defer entry for a year, or they can contact Admissions in writing during the application cycle.

Applicants seeking to defer their entry should be aware that any offer conditions must be met by the end of the application cycle for the year in which they submitted their application.
