Scale 2.0 @ LSA
October 28th 17:30

The NORTHWEST SMALL PRACTICE FORUM invited students at the Liverpool School of Architecture to reimagine and reassemble Scale, the first public exhibition by NSPF celebrating the work, ideas and collective ambition of small architectural practices across the North West. This competition asked students to consider how an exhibition can take on a second life within an architecture school: how it can be curated, adapted, reinterpreted for a new audience in a new space, whilst creating a backdrop for a series of connected talks and events . Rather than simply reinstalling the exhibition, students were invited to think critically and creatively about how the work can be brought into dialogue with the school, its spaces, its students and its wider architectural community. We were looking for thoughtful, inventive and achievable ideas that responded to the existing exhibition while giving it a fresh identity in its new setting. The winning proposal, with guidance from the NSPF, shapes how Scale is presented at the Liverpool School of Architecture, and the completed exhibition also features the winning student team’s own work alongside the NSPF exhibition material.

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of the competition, Anish Sheth and Sam Ashbrook, with their competition entry ‘Eyes On’ – their submission truly felt like ‘a reimagined assembly’ in the way it linked NSPF members’ work with LSA through careful curation from a student’s perspective.
Join us in celebrating the launch of the exhibition on the first of two Careers Days in the School of Architecture, followed by a talk by NSPF member Ashley Taylor-Watts of Define Architects in the Budden Lecture Theatre at 18.30.
