Ten Years of Colin Rowe Lectures: A Wide Angle View
Saturday 31st October 2026, starting at 15:00

RIBA Curator Valeria Carullo
Introduced by Dr Marco Iuliano
Free lecture + limited curator-led exhibition tour
This year, the Colin Rowe Lectures — a collaboration between the Centre for Architecture and the Visual Arts at the University of Liverpool and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) — celebrate their tenth anniversary.
Since 2016, the series has explored the image of architecture through lectures and conversations with leading architectural theorists and photographers, including Richard Pare, Hélène Binet, Claire Zimmerman, Juhani Pallasmaa and Kenneth Frampton.
To mark this milestone, we have organised a special event at the new University of Liverpool School of Architecture, designed by O’Donnell + Tuomey.
Introduced by Dr Marco Iuliano, RIBA curator Valeria Carullo will offer a behind-the-scenes account of Wide Angle View: Architecture as Social Space in the Manplan Series 1969–70, the exhibition she curated. Following its successful run in London, the display is currently at RIBA North, Mann Island, Liverpool (until 1 November 2026).
Following the lecture, there will be a special guided tour of the exhibition.
Both the lecture and the tour are free and open to all, but booking is essential. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
