Facilities

You will have access to a variety of facilities to support your studies.

Garstang Museum

Our  contains significant collections of coins, vases, inscriptions and figurines from important Classical sites such as Sparta and Dura-Europus. Collections are used for teaching, student projects and research.

Archaeology labs

Our state of the art  include a new microscope laboratory and a palaeodiet laboratory for the analysis of skeletal remains of humans and animals.

Central teaching lab

You will have access to archaeological facilities in the award-winning Central Teaching Laboratories, including equipment and replica material for scientific analysis and our Flint-Knapping laboratory. 

Sydney Jones Library

The University’s Sydney Jones Library contains excellent collections of monographs and journals, a papyrological collection used in teaching and a number of specialist archives.
