A Commentary on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

Aoife Daly has published a book in Brill's prestigious 'commentary' series which provides legal analysis of all provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. In this book, entitled Commentary on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 15: The Right to Freedom of Association and to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly, Aoife Daly draws-out particularly child-specific elements of these rights such as the criminalisation of hanging around in public spaces. She highlights the legal context, the difficulties for children in accessing these rights, and avenues for transforming how we approach association and assembly. In doing so reconceptualises understandings of these crucial rights.
