Law with a Year in Industry programme launches for third year with three new partners

The University of Liverpool Law School has launched the third year of its Law with a Year in Industry programme, welcoming three new partner organisations for the 2026/27 academic year.

Building on two successful years, the programme offers current second-year law students the opportunity to spend the third year of their degree in paid, full-time professional experience with a leading law firm or legal organisation in Liverpool. Students then return to complete their final year of study, graduating with an Law with a Year in Industry LLB (Hons). The degree combines academic study with extensive practical experience designed to support future career success in the legal profession and beyond.

For 2026/27, the programme is strengthened by the addition of three new partners, reflecting its continued growth and strong links with the Liverpool legal sector. The new partners joining the initiative are:

They join an established group of prestigious law firms and legal organisations offering placements as part of the programme, including:

Across the partner organisations, students will gain exposure to a wide range of legal work and professional environments at regional, national and international levels.

The launch of the 2026/27 programme featured two student events, including a breakfast networking session with placement providers and a Q&A with current placement students, offering guidance on applications, interviews and making the most of the year in industry.

The programme continues to promote inclusivity and equal opportunity, encouraging applications from students from under-represented backgrounds or those facing potential barriers in the legal profession.
