At this week’s Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) conference, researchers from the University of Liverpool were recognised for their outstanding contributions in their fields.

Dr Seán Columb, Reader in Transnational Criminal Law, was awarded the prestigious Impact Prize for his work on ‘Exposing the Organ Trade: Seeking Truth in Violence’. His research delves into the intricate web of organ trafficking, shedding light on its operations and societal impact.

Dr Greg Davies, Lecturer in Law, was nominated for the Socio-Legal Article Prize. These successes follow Professor Marie Fox, Queen Victoria Chair of Law's, recent election to the Fellowship of the Academy of Social Sciences, further highlighting the calibre of socio-legal research within the School of Law and Social Justice.

Speaking of the awards, Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice, shared:

"These outstanding achievements underscore the strength of our interdisciplinary socio-legal scholarship and the profound impact it continues to have. Congratulations to all our colleagues for their remarkable contributions, and congratulations to Dr Seán Columb on receiving the prestigious Impact Prize."

The University of Liverpool's presence and success at the SLSA conference serves as a testament to the institution's commitment to advancing knowledge and making meaningful contributions to the field of socio-legal studies.
