Welcome to the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures

This session will provide a welcome from the Dean of School and an introduction to key academic and professional services staff. You will also learn more about student support, the student voice and careers and employability opportunities.

This session is for all new undergraduate and postgraduate students studying a programme within the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures.

Transitioning to University

Transitioning to university studies and university life can be as challenging as it is exciting. In this session we will cover aspects such as: expectations; managing your time effectively; and taking ownership of your work. We will also discuss the different types of support available to you at Liverpool. The session should equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to ensure your transition to university is smooth and successful.

This session is for all new undergraduate students studying a programme within the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures.

Student Engagement Activities

On the Thursday and Friday of Welcome Week, the Department is hosting a range of hands-on activities for new students. Each activity will run the entirety of both days and students will be divided into groups of around 10.
