Postgraduate qualifications in Radiation Protection
Our Continuing Professional Development modules are designed to be flexible and can be combined to achieve a formal qualification - a Postgraduate Certificate or a Postgraduate Diploma.
Our flexible approach enables you to upskill while remaining in full-time employment, applying your learning directly in your role whilst gaining academic recognition.
Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Radiation Protection
This qualification can be studied part-time over two years. By completing the following assessed CPD modules, you can gain a PGCert in Radiation Protection:
- PHYS802 – Principles of Radiation Detection
- PHYS810 – Radiation Protection and Dosimetry
- PHYS816 – Practical Radiation Protection
- PHYS820 – Radiation Shielding.
Each module is delivered as an intensive 5-day course and carries 15 CATS credits when taken with assessment, totalling 60 CATS credits for the PGCert.
The programme is designed for flexible completion over two years, making it ideal for professionals in the nuclear industry seeking to formalise their expertise alongside employment.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Radiation Protection
This qualification can be studied part-time over three years.
You may extend your PGCert by completing four additional approved CPD modules with assessment, progressing to a PGDip. This pathway comprises the PGCert (60 CATS credits) plus four further modules, giving a total of 120 CATS credits.
