Case Studies

The UK government has provided some HE specific case studies to help advise in this area, see here for details.

Researchers at King's College London, Centre for Science and Security studies published a Catalogue of Case Studies on Intangible Technology Transfers from Universities and Research Institutes which provides really useful examples on exports of intangible Technology. The case studies are a mix of projects which were problematic and ones which are good examples of how projects in high risk areas can work within export controls.

The National Protective Security Agency (NPSA) have produced 'NPSA Trusted Research Scenarios' to demonstrate research security risks and provide sensible mitigation advice for those undertaking collaborations with international partners.

The examples below include some aspects which are real scenarios that have been dealt with by the University.
