The tuition fees you pay will vary depending on your choice of course and your confirmed fee status as either an international or UK ('home') student.
Check your tuition fee status
We charge different tuition fees for international and UK students.
Before you can work out how much your tuition fees will be, you need to know whether you’ll have the tuition fee status of an international ('overseas') or UK ('home') student.
Your tuition fee status is assessed using the information you provide in your application. This includes your nationality, where you live and how long you’ve lived there. We’ll usually confirm your tuition fee status in your offer letter.

Check your course fees
Our tuition fees vary depending on the course and level you wish to study. You’ll find our tuition fees listed on each course page.
Our fixed tuition fee guarantee
Our fixed tuition fee guarantee means that, if you’re a full-time international student joining an undergraduate degree or master’s course, we won’t increase your tuition fees while you’re studying with us.
Exceptions apply if you’re studying Medicine or Dentistry. Tuition fees for international Medicine and Dentistry students may vary in line with the Consumer Price Index after the first year of study.
Paying your tuition fee deposit for master’s courses
We operate a tuition fee deposit scheme for international applicants to our master’s courses.
If you receive an offer of a place on a master’s and wish to accept it, you’ll usually need to pay a tuition fee deposit of £2,000. This deposit will be deducted from the total tuition fees for your course.

Paying your tuition fees
Arrangements for how to pay your tuition fees vary depending on whether you (or your family) are paying your tuition fees, or if they’re being paid on your behalf by a sponsor.
If you’re self-financing and paying the tuition fees yourself, you can pay your tuition fees for each year of study in a single payment or in instalments.
- If you’re joining an undergraduate degree or master’s course, you can pay your annual tuition fees in full at the start of each year of study or in two instalments with a 60%/40% split.
- If you’re joining a postgraduate research degree, you can pay your annual tuition fees in full at the start of each year of study or in three equal instalments.
If a sponsor is paying all or part of your tuition fees, the University will send an invoice to your sponsor on your behalf.
