Opportunities

The group is active in a broad range of materials synthesis and characterisation in areas including porous materials, oxides (bulk and thin film) and (bio)nanomaterials. We use computational methods and high-throughput techniques.

The group consists currently of over 50 researchers. We offer an interdisciplinary environment where it is possible for researchers to learn about areas outside of their immediate interests and to apply these concepts to their own research. This concept is central to the EPSRC Programme Grant: Chemical Synthesis of Transformative Extended Materials, which is divided into three themes (Porous Materials, Oxides, and Nanomaterials) underpinned by specialist researchers in areas such as organic synthesis, x-ray diffraction, and modelling.
