Leadership, management and funding

Good leaders are professional, motivated and can inspire people. A strong leadership culture is built on core values, behaviours and expectations for all leaders, at every level. Researchers are often involved directly and indirectly in the management of colleagues at different stages in their career. Gaining skills around effective management is a valuable skill in any career.

To obtain funding as a Researcher you may wish to identify the appropriate fellowship schemes. Research Councils and other funding bodies offer appropriate funding schemes that are designed specifically for Research Staff.

You need to ensure that you are familiar with all the requirements and eligibility criteria of each funding scheme. Visiting the website of the funding body that you have chosen will give you the necessary information. It may also be useful to discuss your options with a senior Researcher who has experienced the funding process. The University of Liverpool Research Support Office offers more information depending on the funding scheme that you may be interested in.
