Head of English wins International Book Award
Professor Greg Lynall, Head of English and co-director of the Literature & Science Hub research centre, has won a 2022 European Society for the Study of English Book Award, in the category of Literatures in the English Language, for his monograph Imagining Solar Energy: The Power of the Sun in English Literature, Science and Culture (Bloomsbury Academic, 2020). The judges deemed Greg’s book on the cultural history of solar power to be a ‘fascinating and extremely topical journey’ and ‘most memorable scholarly and readerly experience’.
