Undergraduate Study

Our programmes chart how literature and language have developed over time, from the middle ages to the present. We have a strong interest in current developments in speech and writing of all kinds.

You can study a single honours programme in English, specialising in literature or language, or a balance of the two. A levels in either discipline are acceptable for entry, regardless of which you wish to pursue for your degree.

Additionally there are opportunities to study English with another subject on a 50-50 split, through the University's combined honours programmes.
