Professor Nandini Das appointed to Research England Council
The Board of UK Research and Innovation has appointed Department of English Professor Nandini Das to the new Research England Council.
The Council’s aim is to create and sustain the conditions for a healthy and dynamic research and knowledge exchange system in English universities.
According to Research England, the council will “help shape the strategic direction and priorities for Research England as part of UK Research and Innovation, and will have an important role in supporting the transition process to the creation of Research England in April 2018”.
Head of Department Professor Paul Simpson said of the appointment:
“This is a prestigious and influential role, and Nandini’s involvement with Research England is excellent news for Liverpool”.
Nandini is Professor Professor of English Literature at the University of Liverpool, and an AHRC BBC New Generation Thinker.
