Reuse of IT for social good

This project is funded by Research Council England and conducted by a team of researchers at the University of Liverpool’s Digital Media and Society Institute, together with Good Things Foundation. The aim of the project was to identify the barriers that prevent organisations and businesses effectively and affordably recycling IT equipment for reuse for social good.

Recent research shows that more could be done around recycling and reuse of technology for social good in the UK.  Previous evidence demonstrates that recycling and reuse of technology is a viable approach to addressing both digital exclusion and tackling e-waste and environmental issues.

We gathereddata exploring the perspectives of people who have experience of digital technology recycling initiatives.
