Clinical care: Supporting advances in veterinary treatment and affordable care for animals
We provide the very best veterinary clinical care, serving thousands animals and their owners each year, from across the North West, North Wales, and beyond.
Thousands of patients are treated each year through our referral small animal and equine teaching hospitals and our three first-opinion (small animal, equine and farm animal) teaching practices. Our specialist veterinary microbiologists and pathologists also provide vital diagnostic services, helping to diagnose and treat patients with a range of conditions (cancers, infections and other conditions) being treated at veterinary practices from across the UK.
However, running our teaching hospitals and practices and providing the latest veterinary treatments and facilities is expensive.
Your support is vital to enable our veterinary teams to continue to offer affordable, high-quality clinical care and provide our students with exposure to veterinary care at all levels, including the most up-to date advances in veterinary treatment.
How your donations can help
Through the support of our donors, we have recently been able to undertake important repairs to the flooring in our small animal teaching hospital animal wards and update our standing surgery facilities in the equine hospital.
We owe the University’s Small Animal Teaching Hospital a debt that can never be repaid – time with our precious Max. We hope that by leaving a legacy, we will be helping them to continue the extraordinary work that they do. It truly is a centre of excellence.

At our small animal teaching hospital, we see 10,000 small animal cases each year. We have the only radiotherapy machine in the North of England, and are at the forefront of treatment of pets including those with hard-to-treat tumours and heart conditions. We offer the latest advances in diagnostic imaging, surgical and medical treatments provided by our highly trained and skilled veterinary Specialists veterinary clinicians, nursing teams and post-graduate trainee Specialists.
