Giving Tuesday (2nd of December) is a day where people around the world come together to celebrate generosity and the impact it has on others.

At the University of Liverpool, we’re marking the day by celebrating you - our alumni and supporter community - and the difference your kindness makes to our students.

Every year, thousands of students begin their Liverpool journey full of hope and excitement. For many, that journey reflects the steps you once took - making new friends, adapting to challenges, and discovering who they want to become.

For some students, the path is more challenging. Worries about affording their place at university, as well as covering costs once they are here, can make university feel overwhelming even for those doing everything they can to stay on track. Yet time and again, when students face these challenges, it is the generosity of our alumni and supporter community that helps them keep moving forward.

Maisie, second year Medicine student, who received the Liverpool Bursary to study at Liverpool shares just how this support has transformed her life: “Your support has made me feel like I truly belong here. Without it, I would be constantly worrying about money and would never have the chance to make the most of this experience. You’ve helped me believe I deserve to be here – and that means everything. I well and truly owe my life and happiness in Liverpool to you.”

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating everyone who supports our students, whether through donating to the Student Fund, giving the gift of your time or getting involved in other ways, with your support, students can make the most of their time at Liverpool.

Five ways to get involved this Giving Tuesday

1. Make a gift to the Student Fund 💌

Making a donation to the Student Fund helps create opportunities for current students through scholarships, bursaries and hardship funding. It’s a powerful way to pay it forward and ensure future students have the same chance to thrive.
