Want to stay connected to the University but not sure where to start? Whether you graduated recently or decades ago, there are plenty of meaningful ways to stay involved. From giving back to engaging with your alumni community, here are some great opportunities to reconnect, get involved and support the next generation of students.

1. Become a LivUni mentor
Students often need more than textbooks and lectures — they need real-world advice, encouragement, and someone who's walked the path before them. LivUni Mentors offers you the opportunity to share your career advice and story with current students and fellow alumni through informal mentoring via Handshake, the University’s Careers & Employability platform.

How to get started: Register your interest by completing the LivUni Mentors - Registration Form

2. Donate to the Student Fund
Join our supporter community by giving back. Your donation - no matter the size - helps create opportunities for current students through scholarships, bursaries and hardship funding. It’s a powerful way to pay it forward and ensure future students have the same chance to thrive. Whether it's a one time gift or a regular donation, your generosity makes a real difference.

3. Provide graduate career opportunities

Show what can be achieved with a University of Liverpool degree by sharing your career experiences or promoting opportunities within your workplace to access graduate talent and support students in their career journey.

You can:

  • Advertise graduate and placement vacancies via Handshake
  • Offer an internship or work placement
  • Offer a visit to your workplace, also known as a “trek”
  • Entrepreneurs are invited to get involved with innovation and enterprise activities

4. Share what you know: Inspire the next generation

Your story matters. Alumni guest speakers can bring life to lectures, give insights into different industries and show students what’s possible after graduation. Share your experience and expertise with students interested in pursuing a career in your industry or field.

You can:

  • Speak at an event
  • Complete an alumni profile
  • Join us at our Open Days

Share what you know: Wherever you are in the world

As a University of Liverpool graduate living outside the UK, your story and experience are powerful. Whether you're interested in inspiring future students or reconnecting with fellow alumni in your region, there are meaningful ways to get involved.

You can:

  • Support international student recruitment, for example, by attending a recruitment fair or sharing an alumni profile
  • Join or help lead an International Alumni Network in your region

Offer your support: Complete the registration form.

Explore our International Networks: By sharing your story or connecting with fellow graduates, you can help strengthen the global Liverpool community.

5. Stay connected online

Supporting students isn’t always formal. Attending alumni events, engaging on social media or even sending encouraging notes to students helps build a culture of connection.
