Student awarded Microbiology Society Prize 2022
Zuzanna Nawrocka, a third year Microbiology student has been awarded with a Microbiology Society Undergraduate Prize 2022. Undergraduate Microbiology prizes are awarded annually to the undergraduate student, in each qualifying institution, who performs best in microbiology in the second year of a Bachelor's degree.

Spotlight on sepsis
This edition of Spotlight focuses on Dr Howbeer Muhamad-Ali from the Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Systems Biology. Howbeer is a Tenure Track Fellow and his research group focuses on the applications of molecular imaging and metabolomics techniques for understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) at single cell and community (biofilm) levels.
